Picasso to Francoise Gilot, “painting isn’t an esthetic operation. It’s a form of magic designed as a mediator between this strange, hostile world and us, a way of seizing the power by giving form to our terrors as well as our desires.”
Because I love it when people ask me, “Aren’t you worried that you’ll be mistaken for a boy since your hair is so short now?”
Um. No. I’m not.
Why should I be worried about that? Boys are beautiful. That’s why I have sex with them as often as I do. I like how boys look. I like that they’re not expected to wear so much makeup that they look fucking 2D and I like that they don’t have to purchase someone else’s hair then have it sewn into their scalps in order to be perceived as attractive by a huge amount of people.
I like that male beauty is effortless. I like that guys can wear just jeans and a t-shirt and people will still be like, “Oh wow, you look very nice today.” So, since I feel completely comfortable doing the exact same thing, I’m going to do it for as long as I see fit.
Why is it a problem if I change my appearance and it makes someone else question the relevance of gender? Oh, yeah, that’s right; it’s not a fucking problem at all.
I mean, it’s not MY problem.
And don’t even get me started on the, “What if people think you’re *looks around and whispers with the force of all seven winds* A LESBIAN with that haircut!?” intrusions.
I. Do. Not. Give. A. DAAAAAAAMMMMMMN. Girls are beautiful too, and if I wanna go out and put my mouth on some beautiful bitch’s vagina, I damn well will. Do you have an issue with that? Then write your local congressman friend, ‘cause I got 99 problems but a butch ain’t one. This is my mouth. I will do who and what I want with it. And this is my head, my face, and my body. I will make it look how I want it to look.
So stop with the whole misconception that a girl with short hair is less of a girl. It’s 2014. You fuckers should be using your energy to develop technology that allows us to apparate or something else important, not worrying about how/why an individual chooses to blur gender lines. Because that shit is so early to mid-1700’s…
